Meet our Boise med management providers
Dr. Thad Koontz, M.D., PhD
Good fit for complex or treatment-resistant cases
I’m the Chief Medical Officer of Human Supports of Idaho and the only physician on our medication management team: an M.D. and Ph.D. in neurobiology whose depth of training places me among the most qualified psychiatric prescribers in the Treasure Valley. I completed my M.D./Ph.D. at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a research-track residency at Duke, and have since served as Medical Director at Idaho State Hospital North and St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. I’m especially sought out for complex, treatment-resistant, or unexplained presentations, where my background in neurobiology and medicine can make a significant difference for those who have struggled to find effective care.
Credentials: Medical Doctor, Ph.D. in Neurobiology
Specialty Areas: Medication Management, Neurobiology
Location: In-person at 4477 W Emerald St c100, Boise, ID 83706 & 206 E Elm St, Caldwell, ID, 83605
Ashley Pomponio, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC
Good fit for adult psychiatry
I came to psychiatric nursing practice through one of the broadest clinical paths you'll find: emergency medicine, critical care, dialysis, and behavioral health. All of those experiences shape the way I care for patients today. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all treatment plans; I believe effective psychiatric care starts with genuinely listening and building individualized care from there. Whether you're managing anxiety, processing trauma, or navigating an ADHD diagnosis later in life, I strive to offer thoroughly collaborative care.
Credentials: Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Specialty Areas: Medication Management, Adults, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, ADHD, Mood Disorders
Location: Serving Boise virtually & North Idaho in person
Meredith Sievers, AGACNP-BC
Good fit for geriatric psychiatry
Five years in the trauma ICU at St. Alphonsus gave me a clinical perspective that most psychiatric providers simply don't have. I've seen firsthand how trauma, illness, and aging intersect with mental health, and I bring that depth to every patient I see. I also started my career working in nursing homes, so I have a particular passion for supporting older adults whose psychiatric needs are often underserved or misunderstood. My approach is grounded in a core belief: mental illness is a medical condition, and you deserve to be treated with the same seriousness and care as any other health concern.
Credentials: Board-Certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Specialty Areas: Medication Management, Geriatrics, Adolescents, Adults
Location: Serving Boise virtually & Caldwell in person
