Duncan Mitchell, LCSW

Duncan Mitchell: Duncan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in our Boise office. He has worked as a counselor at HSI since graduating from Boise State in 2023 with a Master of Social Work degree.

Duncan is ASAM certified and primarily uses CBT, solution-focused brief therapy, and DBT to provide treatment for a variety of mental health issues, including substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, mania, personality disorders, anger management issues, autism spectrum disorder, and psychotic disorders.

Duncan says one of the most rewarding parts of this work is watching the progress his clients make in therapy. Duncan strives to create a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship with each and every one of his clients, as he believes this is the most important factor of treatment success. When not working with clients, Duncan spends his free time playing tennis and watching sports.
